# Record Waveform

> A record button with its waveform bent into a ring - tap it and eight dashes open around it, stretching and shrinking like a voice.

A record button whose waveform is a ring.

Tap it and eight dashes open up around the button. Each one is a full circle with only a short piece of its stroke drawn, turned to face its own slot. A level is just how long that piece is, so a louder bar is a longer dash, and it grows from its middle so the gaps stay even.

It isn't listening to anything. A few times a second it picks one loudness for the whole ring and lets each dash wander around it, so the ring swells and drops together like someone talking. The button breathes along with it, pushing out on the loud bits and sinking on the quiet ones. Tap again and the ring folds back in.
