Vanish Input

A search field that eats your query - press Enter and the text breaks into pixels that stream back into the magnifier.

A search field that eats what you type.

Press Enter and the text gets painted onto a canvas sitting right over the input, in the same font and spot, so nothing visibly changes. Then the canvas is read back pixel by pixel, and every filled pixel becomes a particle. The input is cleared underneath and only the particles are left.

They let go from the right end first and curve back into the magnifier, speeding up as they get close, while the lens leans in and swells like it's swallowing them. Escape throws them down instead, for when you'd rather drop the search than send it.

While it's empty, the placeholder cycles through a few suggestions and Tab takes the one showing. The key on the right is a Tab key until you type, then it turns into Enter. Hitting Enter on nothing gives the bar a small shake.
